Hobbit is located on a hill one mile and a few yards from Herne
Bay coastline, modern swimming pool and cinema.
The Beach has been awarded the Blue Flag (for cleanest sea-shore) part
of the famous Saxon Shore Walk to the medieval towers of Reculver Park,
edged by 'Fossil' beaches.
On their cliff nesting platforms is the largest colony of 'Skylarks'
in England.
The Thanet Coastal area has a diversity of bird life, and has been designated
'A site of Special Scientific Interest.'
We are within 20 miles of castles (more castles in Kent than in any
other County of England), Grand Houses, Cathedrals and Norman Churches;
Traditional Gardens, Plant Nurseries, Fruit Farms and Vineyards. Summer
and Christmas season heralds well advertised village events Craft/Antique
Fairs, Sports and Musical programmes are in abundance.
Down the hill (from Hobbit) there is a golf club/18 hole golf course
and many super courses within a few miles including the famous Ashford
